Knit V Woven

Knit V Woven

One of the most frequently asked questions is should I get knit or woven? This question usually comes up when picking training pants, tracksuit jackets and shorts. In this blog post, we hope to give you a better understanding of the difference between the two and hopefully you will be able to pick the best option for you.

Knit
The main difference is the construction of the fabric, knit is looped in rows to create a stretchy material. Knit is better for keeping warm and comfortable due to being able to move around more freely. Training pants made from knit are usually the closer slim fitting style that has become very popular in the past couple of years. Examples of Knit products are the Nike Park 18 Knit Pant and the Joma Academy Tracksuit.

Woven
Woven is created by interlacing vertical and horizontal yarns, this creates a more rigid feel. Woven fabric is more durable than Knit and training pants usually comes in a looser fit often with elasticated ankles. Some examples of woven products are Adidas Tiro 19 Presentation Jacket and Nike Academy 19 woven Training Pants.
